Why this site exists
License Roadmap exists because licensing information is fragmented across fifty states, dozens of boards, and hundreds of outdated blog posts. Most people who get stuck didn't fail — they followed a guide written three years ago about rules that changed last month.
Our promise is narrow: plain-English, step-by-step license guides that cite the official state and federal agencies, with the last-updated date on every page.
Editorial standards
- Every load-bearing number — hour requirements, filing fees, bond amounts, exam structures — is checked against primary sources (state boards, the US EPA, CMS) before publication and re-checked at each update. The update date sits at the top of every guide.
- Where requirements genuinely vary by city or are unsettled, the guides say so instead of inventing certainty.
- Official sources are linked inline. If we can't find the source, we don't state the fact.
What this site is not
Not a licensing board, law firm, or school, and not individual advice. Nothing here creates a professional relationship, and no guide can know your situation. For anything with money attached, use the linked agency pages — and use our guides to ask better questions.
