Why this site exists
LedgerFix exists because accounting software errors arrive at the worst moment — payroll is due, the accountant is waiting, and the error code on screen means nothing by itself. The official fix articles are accurate but buried; the pages that rank are often support-number farms.
Our promise is narrow: plain-English, fix-first explanations of accounting software error codes, with the vendor's own fix sequence cited and a last-updated date on every page.
Editorial standards
Every fix follows the vendor's documented procedure where one exists — Intuit's help articles, Sage's knowledgebase, Xero's help center — supplemented by the repair steps practitioners report actually working. Where a code's meaning is not officially documented, we say so on the page rather than inventing certainty.
Always make a backup before deleting or renaming any QuickBooks file, including transaction log files, and note your software version: fixes vary between releases.
What this site is not
LedgerFix is not affiliated with Intuit, Sage or Xero, and it is not technical support. It is an independent reference. If a fix is beyond your comfort level — or the data matters enough that mistakes are expensive — your accountant or the vendor's support channel is the right call.
